Research and further development in Data Science implies not only a technical, but also an individual and social view of the digital transformation. In order to bring new technologies into professional or private use, the acceptance of the user is of central importance. Acceptance cannot be established and described by laws or guidelines, but is shaped by the experiences, prejudices, political-economic basic attitudes as well as world views and emotions inherent to each individual.
The focus of our research is on an interdisciplinary consideration of potential users in their respective living and working environments. We explore explanatory models and identify parameters on the basis of which users make decisions. In doing so, we consider the socio-technical system as a whole: on an individual, social and cultural-spatial level. We contribute to the public and scientific discourse by connecting technical developments with an application context such as the mobility sector and by informing, sensitizing and involving the actors involved.
Focuses
Promotion and analysis of participation in digitized participatory processes.
Develop and establish new approaches that actively involve users in product design and creation.
Compilation of stakeholder analyses and evaluation of development processes, also with regard to sustainability.
Viewing algorithms as the Other in culture.
Areas of Application
Rethinking mobility - Artificial intelligence as an enabler of the mobility of the future.
Introduction of e.g. 5G technology with reflection of strengths and weaknesses in practice and deduction of implementation recommendations.
